Simply Foods Limited primarily supplies schools to support school feeding programs and collaborates with other organizations to aid communities lacking access to nutritious food, thereby enhancing food security and sustainability.

In addition to instant porridge, they produce wimbi meal for ugali. All their products are made from red finger millet, which is free from aflatoxin and gluten. Their main goal is to promote millet awareness in Kenya and beyond.

They also collaborate with the Farm to Market Alliance to help farmers supply red finger millet that meets their standards. Simply Foods Limited looks forward to leveraging the Isoko platform to expand their business across East Africa

We were warmly received by the founder, Eng. Paul Kariuki, who established Paly Chicks Ltd in 2011, focusing on breeder farming of broiler and layer chickens, which he supplies to Quality Meat Packers (QMP). In addition to breeder farming, they provide chicken feed made from black soldier flies, known for their high nutritional protein content.

Paly Chicks Ltd collaborates with the county government to utilize animal and plant waste for feeding the black soldier flies, contributing to environmental conservation.

Eng. Kariuki expressed his gratitude to KNCCI for facilitating a trade mission to Beijing, China,in 2023 which enabled him to source equipment that has automated his business operations.

He is eager to collaborate with KNCCI county chapters to aggregate farmers for export opportunities. With 13 years of industry experience and an engineering background, Eng. Kariuki is well-positioned to offer capacity-building support for farmers, focusing on structures and equipment. He currently has a total of 140,000 birds.

The Deputy President, on behalf of himself and President H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, acknowledged the role of  KNCCI in fostering enterprise development across Kenya. He highlighted the significance of ongoing collaboration with stakeholders, emphasizing  the president’s commitment to entrepreneurship as a catalyst for enhancing Kenya’s state  in global manufacturing and generating extensive employment opportunities for the youth domestically.

Deputy President Gachagua assured KNCCI’s leaders and members of the government’s full support in eliminating bureaucratic obstacles to streamline business operations, emphasizing unwavering assistance in expanding export markets, bolstering investment prospects, and enhancing commercial diplomacy.

Dr. Rutto thanked the Deputy President for his hospitality and outlined the Chamber’s mission to boost trade and investment through its extensive international network, encompassing 177 countries, which is central to promoting Kenyan products and acquiring market intelligence.

He also addressed the issue of pending bills, which pose a financial strain on businesses, and advocated for the swift passage of the Prompt Payment Bill, 2021, aimed at ensuring timely compensation for goods, services, or work provided.

The Chamber Vice President Mr. Mustafa Ramadhan, expressed his gratitude for the Deputy President’s support and highlighted the importance of diversifying export products. He noted preparations for the upcoming Kenya Week in Nairobi and Jeddah, aiming to showcase Kenyan offerings to new markets.

The discussions concluded with a plan to address a broad range of issues, including agriculture, manufacturing, youth, women, and labor, reflecting the collective objectives identified during the meeting. The Chamber’s leadership, including National Directors and Committee Members, were present, demonstrating a united front in advancing Kenya’s commerce and trade agenda.
