At the Radisson Blu in Nairobi, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) and Afrika-Verein Der Deutschen Wirtschaft held a meeting to discuss strengthening trade and investment ties between Kenya and Germany. The discussions highlighted the importance of fostering direct engagement between enterprises from both countries to identify suitable partners, enhance bilateral trade, and promote investment opportunities.

The parties emphasized increasing Kenyan exports to Germany and attracting German investment into Kenya while fostering mutual economic growth. They also explored opportunities for knowledge transfer and capacity building in critical sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and technology, aiming to benefit both economies.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), formalizing the partnership to deepen economic collaboration. The MoU was signed by Dr. Erick Rutto (KNCCI President), Mr. Christoph Kannengiesser (CEO, Afrika-Verein), and Ms. Claudia Voß (Afrika-Verein).

The meeting had high-level representation, with Directors Lucy Muchoki, Cynthia Nyawira, and Zainabu Mohamed attending. This partnership aims to unlock new opportunities for businesses in Kenya and Germany, promote sustainable growth, and strengthen bilateral relations. The implementation of agreed initiatives will follow in subsequent engagements.
