KNCCI in collaboration with TradeMark Africa, Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI), and Lusaka Chamber of Commerce, hosted a successful high-level conference and B2B meeting at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel, Lusaka, Zambia.

This remarkable event brought together over 80 Zambian business representatives and an 18-member Kenyan delegation led by KNCCI President Dr. Erick Rutto.

Dr. Rutto highlighted Kenya’s favorable trade and investment climate, inviting Zambian businesses to explore the abundant opportunities in Kenya. He also stressed the transformative potential of the African Continental Free Trade Area in boosting intra-African trade, calling for collaborative efforts to unlock this potential.

Zambia’s Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Industry, Ms. Lillian S. Bwalya, welcomed the Kenyan delegation, assuring government support for stronger trade ties. Similarly, ZACCI Vice President Christabel Ranke emphasized the need for collaboration to drive economic growth and foster sustainable partnerships.

Key outcomes:

Two critical MOUs were signed:

  1. Between KNCCI and ZACCI to establish national-level cooperation.
  2. Between KNCCI Nairobi Chapter and Lusaka Chamber of Commerce to promote city-level collaboration and joint initiatives.

The conference provided a vibrant platform for networking, B2B engagements, deal-making, and idea exchange, setting the stage for tomorrow’s trade expo, where Kenyan businesses will showcase their innovations to Zambian investors and entrepreneurs.

We extend our gratitude to esteemed leaders, including Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya, H.E. Alfred Musemuna; Kenya’s Head of Chancery in Zambia, Mr. Robert Kobia; and Director of Investment at Zambia Development Agency, Chimuka Nketani, for their valuable presence and insights.

We celebrate the dedication of the Kenyan delegation, including business leaders such as Simon Konzolo (TMA), Dr. James Mwaura (Nairobi Chapter), Elly Chepkwony (Nandi Chapter), Joseph Theuri (Nyandarua Chapter), Ronald Meru (KNCCI Chairman of Economic Diplomacy), and KNCCI Secretariat.
