Kabarnet, Baringo County – The Baringo County Business Summit, organized by KNCCI and the County Government, kicked off on November 14, 2024. The event, centered on “Unleashing Entrepreneurship & Digital Innovation,” aims to equip young entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital age.
H.E Benjamin Cheboi, EGH, EBS, Governor Baringo county graced the opening ceremony, along with KNCCI North Rift Director, Mr. Stanley Baskwony and other dignitaries.
A vibrant display of products from various sectors was showcased by exhibitors at the Kabarnet Museum grounds.
A panel discussion featuring youth leaders, including Alex Mwamburi, Chematia Domtila, Wilberforce Seguton, Timothy Kashusha, Charles Taylor, and Amdich Karanja, was held to discuss challenges and opportunities for young entrepreneurs in Baringo County.
The Jiinue Growth Program, led by DAN Kiprono, commenced its two-day digital skills training on Day 1. The training focused on the Business Model Canvas, a strategic management and lean startup template for developing new or documenting existing business models.
In a related development, KNCCI, in collaboration with Trademark Africa and the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, organized a one day regional capacity-building workshop for 200 youth and women. The workshop, held at Rift Valley Hills Resort, aimed to prepare participants to leverage the opportunities presented by the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). North Rift Director Stanley Baskwony, Baringo KNCCI Chapter Chair Musa Mulwo, and County Chapter Directors attended the workshop.
