Our advocacy, partnership and membership teams visited the Thika Cloth Mills, a KNCCI Gold Member, one of Kenya’s leading textile manufacturers where the KNCCI team visited to listen to advocacy issues that needed to be addressed.

The visit started with a tour of the Mills to appreciate the entire ecosystem from farm to distribution – receiving raw materials, spinning, weaving and finally processing using the latest technology.

This was followed by a roundtable featuring in-depth conversations on the cotton and textile value chains, highlighting the interconnected challenges specifically the real challenges faced in the cotton and textile value chains  eg access to seeds, farming, manufacturing, business landscape, market access, etc.

The CEO Dr Tejal Dodhia shared insights on the interconnected challenges, opportunities and initiatives that would drive competitive economic prosperity and vital to economic development as it drives and stimulates the trade, economic activities, innovation, job creation and attract investment.
