We hosted a Women in Business training at its headquarters at Telkom Plaza, Nairobi. The training was centered on gender-sensitive Public-Private Dialogue (PPD), emphasizing the critical role of collaboration between the government, the private sector, and key stakeholders in fostering inclusive economic growth.

This initiative focused on empowering women entrepreneurs by addressing challenges in advocacy, networking, and policy reforms. Chamber President Dr. Erick Rutto reaffirmed KNCCI’s commitment to advancing women-led enterprises through capacity building, improved access to finance, and enhanced market opportunities. He encouraged women entrepreneurs to actively explore the vast opportunities available both locally and internationally within the Chamber’s network.

The ICR Facility is supporting KNCCI in advocating for revisions to the AGPO system, establishing a Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) forum for consultations, and creating a comprehensive strategy to support a women entrepreneurs’ network.

The Business Environment Reforms for Women’s Economic Empowerment (BER4WEE) training, held at the Chamber’s headquarters, aimed to equip WIB members from all ten regions in preparation for the upcoming roundtable PPD forum with the government and other stakeholders in October.

The regions were represented by Ann Phoebe (Nairobi), Wanjiku Wambugu (Coast), Joseph Wekesa Youth Director (Western), Bilha Mukeku (Lower Eastern), Rebecca Mutua (Lower Eastern), Judith Millicent (Nyanza), Lillian Bitok (North Rift), Maria Lolngojine (South Rift), Mercy Mbuba (Upper Eastern), Rukia Mohamed (North Eastern), Marion Ngayi (Nairobi), Josephine Obingo (Nyanza), Victoria Namaembe (Nairobi), Eva Murua (Central), Linda Libese (Western), and Leilah Muhandale (HQ).

The convener, KNCCI Women in Business Director, Zainab Mohamed, expressed her gratitude to all participants.
The training was led by Ms. Stella, a consultant for the ICR from the British Council.
