The Chamber President Dr. Erick Rutto this morning held a meeting with the State of Qatar Ambassador H.E Amb. Mohammed Mutair Al Shamlani Al Anzi at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Nairobi.
The discussions centered on ways of enhancing co-operation between Kenya and Qatar on trade and investments.
The meeting explored trade and investment opportunities, joint projects and alliances and much more in both countries.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chamber President praised the close relations between Kenya and Qatar especially in the economic and commercial aspects citing the over 65,000 Kenyan workers in Qatar.
He expressed the keenness of business sectors to enhance co-operation with the Qatari private sector. He highlighted that Kenya is an attractive destination for investment in sectors such as agribusiness, real estate, hospitality, entrepreneurship, etc.
He extended an invitation to Amb. Mohammed bin Mutair Al- Enazi and by extension the Qatari Business to participate at the *inaugural World Chambers Federation (WCF) Africa Summit in June 2025 to be held in Nairobi.
“Hosting the WCF Africa Summit is a monumental opportunity for Kenya,” Dr. Rutto remarked. “It will draw in investors, create opportunities for trade, investments and partnerships.
Dr. Rutto anticipates that the Summit will attract over 4,500 participants from more than 70 countries, including key stakeholders from various sectors and looks forward to the participation of Qatari businesses.
The ambassador emphasized the Qatari business owners’ eagerness to explore the trade and investment opportunities Kenya especially in agriculture – coffee, tea, vegetables, leather, beef incl camel, real estate. He gave his assurances to the Chamber President of his support on strong cooperation.
Further, he also called on Qatar businessmen to invest in Kenya and benefit from its advanced infrastructure, legislation, and attractive investment incentives.
