Speaking today at an AfDB Annual Meetings side event organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK) in partnership with KNCCI, Director Ken Onditi emphasized the Chamber’s crucial role in business growth. The Turkish Ambassador to Kenya, Amb. Subutay Yüksel, highlighted Turkey’s significant interest in investing in Kenya, recognizing it as a key investment hub.

KNCCI CEO Mr. Patrick Nyangweso, representing the Chamber President Dr. Erick Rutto, underscored Kenya’s status as a tech innovation hub with an open market for global trade. He noted the high literacy and skill levels of Kenya’s youthful population and highlighted opportunities for investment in value addition. He also called for infrastructural development in Africa and promoted sustainable climate change initiatives in collaboration with KNCCI.

Furthermore, he encouraged Turkey to collaborate with KNCCI to invest in the digital economy, aiming to enhance bilateral business and economic relations between Kenya and Turkey. Turkish companies were advised to understand the local business climate through local partnerships, with KNCCI’s support on policy issues and advocacy.

Additionally, Mr. Nyangweso stressed the need for affordable financial services to boost economic development and stated that KNCCI will address unrealistic taxation proposals at Parliament to protect the business environment
