The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) was honored to host H.E. Sultan Hajiyev, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kenya, for a strategic discussion on fostering economic collaboration. The Ambassador was received by KNCCI CEO Ahmed Farah, HSC, at the Chamber’s headquarters.
Focus on the WCF Africa Summit 2025
The discussions centered on the WCF Africa Summit 2025, scheduled for April 9-11, 2025, at KICC, Nairobi. Mr. Farah provided an overview of the Summit, highlighting its significance as a premier platform for fostering trade and investment across Africa and beyond. He extended an official invitation to Azerbaijan to participate and emphasized KNCCI’s role as a key business membership organization driving economic growth.
Azerbaijan’s Interest in Collaboration
Ambassador Hajiyev expressed strong interest in the Summit and committed to engaging his networks to support its success. Recognizing the opportunity for enhanced trade relations between Kenya and Azerbaijan, the Ambassador requested additional details about the event to facilitate deeper engagement.
Laying the Foundation for Stronger Trade Relations
To formalize the collaboration, Mr. Farah proposed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KNCCI and relevant Azerbaijani trade bodies. This step aims to strengthen bilateral trade ties and create new economic opportunities for businesses in both countries.
In response, Ambassador Hajiyev extended an invitation to the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nairobi, signaling a commitment to furthering diplomatic and economic engagements.
