In a significant step towards enhancing bilateral trade and investment, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) President, Dr. Erick Rutto, welcomed H.E. Ambassador Mirko Giulietti, the Swiss Ambassador to Kenya, for a courtesy call at the KNCCI headquarters. The discussions underscored the mutual commitment of Kenya and Switzerland to deepening economic ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
Central to the dialogue was the potential for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two nations, a move that would provide a robust framework for increased trade and investment. The meeting also highlighted KNCCI’s pivotal role in facilitating an inbound trade mission for Swiss businesses, creating an avenue for Swiss enterprises to connect with Kenyan counterparts and explore investment opportunities in key sectors.
The discussions spanned a diverse range of industries, including tourism, finance, health, and education, reinforcing the shared vision of both nations in fostering sustainable economic partnerships. To further cement these ties, KNCCI extended an invitation to Switzerland to participate in the upcoming WCF Africa Summit 2025 by hosting a dedicated Country Pavilion. This initiative aims to provide Swiss businesses with a premier platform to showcase their expertise, engage with African markets, and tap into the region’s vast potential.
Also present at the meeting were KNCCI CEO Ahmed Farah, HSC, Trade Officer at the Embassy of Switzerland, Magdaline Marijoi, and members of the KNCCI Secretariat. Their collective engagement reaffirmed KNCCI’s commitment to fostering strategic alliances that drive economic growth and create lasting trade partnerships between Kenya and Switzerland.
As KNCCI continues to champion initiatives that enhance trade facilitation and investment, this engagement with the Swiss delegation marks a significant milestone in strengthening Kenya’s position as a dynamic hub for international business collaborations.
