Dr. Erick Rutto, President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI), and CEO Ahmed Farah led a strategic meeting at Serena Hotel with the Rainforest Alliance Group and the Landscape Management Board. The discussions focused on advancing international sustainable action plans that impact Kenya’s environmental development and grassroots business growth within horticultural value chains.
Key agenda items included forging partnerships aligned with the state’s Green Action Plan, with a strong emphasis on green financing, equity, diversity & inclusion (EDI) quota requirements, and human rights observance. The meeting also laid the groundwork for formalizing these commitments through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) to drive actionable change for SMEs at the grassroots level.
