The WCF Africa Summit 2025 was officially launched today at the JW Marriot Hotel in Nairobi attended by government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, development partners, chamber leaders, and the members of the business community.

The Summit will bring together over 4,500 participants and 350 exhibitors from over 70 countries at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi from April 9-11, 2025, with an aim of highlighting the powerful role of African chambers of commerce in driving sustainable and inclusive growth across the continent.

Key speakers emphasized the Summit’s significance:

Mustafa Ramadhan – KNCCI Vice President, stated that the Summit would demonstrate how African businesses are breaking down borders and showcase successful stories of cross-border trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The participants would witness firsthand how African businesses are creating regional value chains.

Dr. Erick Rutto, KNCCI President, positioned the Summit as a platform to showcase Kenya’s business potential, foster cross-border partnerships, and access a market of 1.3 billion consumers under the AfCFTA.

Speaking on behalf of H.E Governor Sakaja of Nairobi County, Dr. Anastasia Nyalita, CEC for Business and Hustler Opportunities emphasized on Nairobi’s readiness as Africa’s diplomatic and economic hub, in the city’s journey toward economic transformation.

Abubakar Hassan Abubakar, PS for Investment Promotion, emphasized that the Summit coincides with a surge in global investor interest in African opportunities. He highlighted the AfCFTA’s creation of a massive market with 1.3 billion people and a combined GDP of $3.4 trillion. Abubakar concluded by emphasizing Kenya’s ideal position as an investment destination, offering the perfect entry point into this thriving market.

Speaking on behalf of H.E. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime CS and CS Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Korir Sing’oei, PS for Foreign Affairs emphasized that hosting the WCF Africa Summit represents a strategic opportunity for Kenya to showcasing itself as Africa’s premier investment destination and a crucial gateway to East African markets.

The Summit will provide a valuable platform for African chamber leaders to engage in dialogue, strengthen policy frameworks that support business growth, attract investment, and enhance Africa’s competitiveness in the global marketplace.
