KNCCI team led by Kiplimo Kigen, Head of Policy Research and Advocacy visited the Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL). The discussion focused on how KNCCI can support KWAL in addressing key advocacy issues affecting the beverage industry, including challenges arising from the Spirits Remission Act, Treasury Regulations, and the current Wine Remission Rate. It was agreed that KWAL would submit a formal complaint to KNCCI, which would then escalate the concerns to relevant government bodies.

Additionally, the meeting explored opportunities for collaboration on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, with a focus on empowering women and youth. KWAL requested KNCCI’s assistance in identifying potential partners for these initiatives. Both parties committed to working together to resolve the advocacy issues and enhance KWAL’s community impact through targeted CSR programs.
