At the Africa Football Business Summit 2024, Chamber President Dr. Erick Rutto was represented by National Director Cynthia Nyawira. The summit focused on harnessing Africa’s youth potential through sports and social innovation, with football as a key driver of economic growth.
In his message, Dr. Rutto emphasized the opportunities for Kenya to expand its football sector through greater investments in sponsorship, infrastructure, and media, comparing Kenya’s potential to that of Brazil, where football contributes 2% to the GDP—highlighting the economic promise in Kenya’s untapped football industry.
ISDE Business Law School CEO Mr. Juan Jose Sanchez underscored the importance of collaboration among local entities to create sustainable business opportunities within the sports industry. Ambassador Mohamed Guyir’s presence highlighted the crucial role of diplomacy and international partnerships in strengthening football’s economic impact across Africa.
Organized by the Football Foundation for Africa and Kenrift Limited—recently welcomed as a KNCCI Silver Member—the Summit provided a strategic platform to advocate for football as a viable career and its broader influence on economic development in the region.
