Elgeyo Marakwet County Governor, H.E. Wisely Rotich paid a courtesy call to KNCCI, where he was warmly received by Chamber President Dr. Erick Rutto.

The discussions centered on partnerships between the Elgeyo Marakwet County Government and KNCCI, with a particular focus on youth empowerment initiatives in the county through Jiinue Growth Programme by KNCCI.

It was agreed that the county will mobilize 10,000 youth who will be trained through the Jiinue Growth Programme and linked to funding.

In addition, the Chamber agreed to train 175 cottages in Elgeyo and support them to upscale their production.

Additionally, the Chamber President invited the governor to the upcoming World Chambers Federation (WCF) Africa Summit 2025, asking him to bring on board local businesses in Elgeyo Marakwet to showcase in the Summit.

In closing, Dr. Rutto expressed his gratitude for the visit and presented the KNCCI Business Barometer Q4/2024 Report to H.E. Governor Rotich.
