KNCCI presented the private sector’s submissions on the Tobacco Control Amendment Bill to the Senate Health Committee.
The Chamber appreciates that the amendment bill aims to fill the gap between regulation and innovation in the market.
We also appealed to the Committee that the proposed regulation should be conscious of the fact that about 40% of tobacco and nicotine products in Kenya are illicit and counterfeit, which is a function of inefficient and ineffective regulation.
