At the Kenya Food Event, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce gave the keynote address and official opening remarks, which was done by Mr Stephen Osedo, gave an impressive opening remarks, which set a good order for the engagement and activities of the expo.

He presented an overview of the food industry within Kenya briefly in respect to what has been achieved over the years but also the challenges faced, such as supply chain disruption, High operation cost and Regulatory & Compliance and Consumer preference.

He highlighted that the Nairobi City Council unified the business permit that is, consolidated the business licenses to facilitate ease of doing business in the city. He emphasized on the need to embrace new technologies and practices in order to ensure the food industry is both resilient and sustainable.
