The event focused on the theme: “Skills Development for a Fast-Changing World of Work and Lifelong Learning.”
The event was officiated by TVETA’s Director General, Kipkirui Langat, and was attended by esteemed figures, including Dr. Esther Muoria (PS TVET), Dr. Juma Mukhwana (PS Industry), Mr. Shadrack Mwadime (PS Labour), and Ms. Caroline Njuki from the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
Stephen Osedo, Head of County Services and MSMEs, represented the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) at the launch.
Key discussions revolved around the need for educational institutions to become more skill-focused in response to global demands. Employers were also urged to train graduates in institutional and enterprise management to support economic growth.
Also in attendance included Dr. Alice Kande (Director General, KNQA), Jacqueline Mugo (Federation of Kenya Employers), Teresa Wasike (Director General, NITA), Bobby Virdee (Master Fabricators Ltd), Bro. Ernest Nadome (COTU-K), Aggrey Ndombi (CICan), and Dr. Wanjiru Kariuki (SD Labour and Skills Development).
