Dr. Juma Mukhwana, Principal Secretary – State Department of Industrialization, hosted a private sector delegation of Kenyan and Polish business representatives. The Kenyan team was led by KNCCI President Dr. Eric Ruto, and the Polish delegation by Poland Chamber of Commerce Vice President Piotr Ciarkowski. Also in attendance were H.E. Ambassador Mirosław Gojdź and KNCCI National Directors.
Mr. Ciarkowski highlighted opportunities in raspberry cultivation in Kenya for export (Poland is the largest exporter to the USA) and fresh produce exports from Kenya, leveraging Poland’s expertise. Dr. Ruto emphasized potential collaborations in fertilizer manufacturing and the benefits of investing in Kenya to access regional markets.
Dr. Mukhwana noted that Eastern European countries often buy Kenyan products through intermediaries and praised KNCCI’s initiative for direct engagement. Ambassador Gojdź advocated for direct flights between Nairobi and Warsaw to boost trade and pledged the embassy’s support for enhancing economic ties.
The meeting showcased strong prospects for business collaboration and a commitment to strengthening economic relations between Kenya and Poland.
