KNCCI Director, Ken Onditi, MBS represented KNCCI President Dr. Erick Rutto in celebrating TVET Authority’s launch of its second strategic plan. In his remarks on behalf of the Chamber President, Director Onditi acknowledged TVET-A’s role in assurance and ensurance of the production of a competent skilled workforce that is of direct benefit to the Kenyan economy.

TVET-A Board and the CEO, Dr, Kipkirui Langat were applauded for their commitment in ensuring every household now understand the importance of TVET, and promoting quality training of the youthful generation.

Notable were a number of deliverables for each of the objective areas; enhancing quality training; enhancing relevance in training, and: improving the Perception of TVET among young people in in Kenya. He stressed on KNCCI’s commitment to continue collaborating with the Authority to ensuring the areas are covered.

KNCCI has already come in to collaborate with the authority in realizing the vision of World Skills Kenya. Last year we worked together to stage our 1st National Skills competition which brought together young people from TVET, Universities and industry to compete in various skill areas.

Kenya has been invited to participate in World Skills International competition which will take place from 10th to 15th September 2024 at Lyon, France. KNCCI will continue mobilizing support to ensure this movement is active and will trigger a lot of young people to join training for skills and expose them to global opportunities

Together with the TVET Authority, KNCCI are in the process of organizing the 2nd WorldSkillls Kenya National Competition, which is schedule for 19th -23rd August, 2024 at the Kenya School of TVET. Our role is to identify and support competition needs through our members. Globally, skills competition is a movement that is organized jointly by governments, industry, development partners. . The plan will be officially shared among our potential supporters and sponsors.

In his closing remarks, KNCCI Director, Ken Onditi, MBS urged all the stakeholders to come on board in promoting World Skills events, which clearly demonstrate the competency of the youth in the industry and economically.

TVET sub-sector in Kenya is full of partnership opportunities and KNCCI is ready to take advantage of the positive gesture from our partners.
