The Chamber President, Dr. Erick Rutto hosted the Finland Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Pirkka Tapiola. The discussions were centered on partnership in the following sectors: education, tourism, agriculture, trade facilitation, health and ICT. The discussion highlighted initiatives such as Business Finland’s trade promotion efforts and Finland’s partnerships supporting collaborations with African countries. Emphasis was placed on curating programs to support women in business, address climate change, promote renewable energy, improve SME corporate governance, build capacity and digitize processes. The way forward includes balance of trade between the two countries, promoting economic activities, focusing on SMEs, utilizing development cooperation funds and fostering business partnerships and investments for mutual benefit and growth. Both parties assured their commitment in enhancing economic relations between Finland and Kenya. Attendees included Deputy Head of Mission Otto Kivinen, Deputy Director-General for Africa and the Middle East Pirjo Suomela Chowdhury, Director Ronald Meru (Chairman of Economic Diplomacy) and KNCCI CEO Patrick Nyangweso and members of Secretariat .
