In a bid to establish a working relationship, solve trade issues and source for business opportunities for members. Ms. Fatma Elmaawy Chamber 2nd Vice President led the secretariat; Mr. Patrick Nyangweso, Mr. Onesmus Masinde and Ms. Ruth Wadenya for a meeting with the officials from Ethiopia Embassy; Ambassador Siraj Reshid Jundi , Deputy Head of Mission and Ms.Selamawit Shenkute First Secretary Economic Diplomacy
Mr. Pius Ewoton, Chairperson Turkana KNCCI was also part of the meeting to bring about issues affecting cross-border trade between Kenya and Ethiopia.
Dr. George Muia Geothermal Development Corporation GDC spoke about the challenges that they have encountered with Ethiopia and also the services that GDC can extend to Ethiopia.
Way Forward.
• Ethiopia is interested in investors from Kenya.
• All issues affecting trade should be documented so as to find a solution and promote trade between the two countries.
• Activate cross border opportunities.
• Come up with a standing working group to look into Joint Programs between the two countries.
